It never worked very good, but still kept it as it worked in case of an emergency. I have it for several years, 8 plus years. I have had a straight talk home phone system that runs on cell phone service. However, the phones are working, so I may have a month to research other carriers. I bought the $75 plan card from Walmart and switched the plan on-line on October 16, only to receive a text in response and every day since saying the my airtime expires on October 16. Finally when I said I am opening a dispute with my credit card company I was transferred to someone in Florida who spoke English and my money was refunded, but he was unable to help me switch my service plan. I spent more than ten hours over three days talking to ignorant, incompetent, and rude agents. I attempted to switch my plan from the $90 2-line plan to the $75 Silver plan. Now Verizon is involved again and I have NO TRUST in the company. StraightTalk was an improvement although the website had several glitches which showed some incompetence and customer service was often the same. Each month I had to call to get a refund and each month I was told they had corrected my account and it would not happen again. I switched from Verizon to StraightTalk years ago because Verizon was charging me for services I did not have. As of today I am still unable to access the online account associated with my Straight Talk mobile number. Then this agent had the nerve to ask me for yet another email address to try. I tried this with another agent, and yet another email address, still no password reset. I ended up trying to get an agent to change the email on file with the phone number to another email address so that I could reset the passcode and the agent was too stupid to do it. Then, I was unable to make an online account because my email and phone number were linked to two different accounts and the agents were too incompetent to somehow merge them into one account. I finally got an agent with knowledge that told me I need to change the APN on my phone. First, it took hours to activate because the steps in the kit did not work and the customer service agents were clueless. I purchased a starter kit with a SIM and one month of service.
